Budding authors, listen up. How would YOU fancy the chance to get one of your short stories showcased online for everyone to read AND a selection of new books for you to sink your teeth into? No, it’s not a dream – it’s the prize that Bloomsbury are genuinely offering in their 247tales competition.
In a nutshell: Every month, a Bloomsbury author will write their own short story on a particular topic – then it’s up to all 10 – 16 year olds in the UK that want to be a writer to pen their own story on that topic too. The catch? Your story can only be 247 words!
The competition launches at 2:47pm TODAY (World Book Day) with a 247tale from bestselling author Tony Bradman on the theme of The Ship. Details on how to enter this once-in-a-lifetime competition can be found right here. Authors taking part include Anne Cassidy, Jim Eldridge, Sarah Crossan, A.F. Harrold, Laura Powell and Sue Limb.
