Max from The Wanted has famously declared that he won’t count One Direction as competition until they have a song as high as his band do in the US charts – but he’ll be eating his words when he finds out what’s happening right now.

With music chart gurus estimating it to sell between 160,000 and 180,000 copies in just its first week of release, 1D’s album Up All Night is set to debut at Number One on the official Billboard album chart – and if it makes it, it will be the first time EVER that a UK band has debuted in that position.

The Wanted have been working hard overseas and it’s definitely been paying off, but with One Direction about to make chart history, things are starting to heat up. Of course we’re proud of both acts and can’t believe they’re both out there flying the flag for British music – but which side are YOU on? Let us know in the comments below…

    I’m rooting for The Wanted! They’ve worked so hard and have already broken Take That’s record in the singles chart. I know loads of people are going to disagree, but I feel that One Direction have just coasted aling with all the support they won from the X Factor. Don’t get me wrong, I do like 1D, but I feel that TW deserve it so much more!

    Stop creating more rivalry between these bands!! Both are great and they actually like each other.

    I personally like TW better, but I like 1D a lot too :-)

    They’ve came a long way since 2009 and I’m so proud to call myself a TW fan!! I’ve loved them since day 1 and always will TW forever and ever and ever. I think one direction copy TW if you notice in Glad You Came TW are on a beach with girls and in what makes you beautiful one direction are on a beach with girls and they got famous off of X-factor and they only have fans because of that but TW actually work hard to gain fans and thats why TW are muc better!!<3
