One Direction rock red carpet for Big Time Rush premiere
Comments
Looks like One Direction have been getting very close to those Big Time Rush boys whilst supporting them on tour out in the US as the band were invited to the Big Time Movie premiere as guests of honour and rocked the red carpet, reuniting with Zayn who’s back after leaving the tour for a few days.
Maybe it’s just us, but looking at these pics makes us wish we had a 1D movie premiere to look forward to – can someone please sort that out? Check out a few snaps from 1D’s time at the premiere below.

Are One Direction making a movie?

Don’t worry, we’re not getting too ahead of ourselves here. We’ve been hearing rumours of a One Direction film for a long time – last year there was whispers that James Corden’s TV company would even produce it – but for the first time the 1D boys themselves have actually hinted at the project.
Speaking to the Metro, Harry Styles revealed that they genuinely have been approached by people with the idea. ”We have had a few offers. We like the idea of a documentary-style one.”
A 1D version of Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never that follows the group on their mission to take over the US whilst on the road with Big Time Rush and releasing their debut album? Sounds like cinema gold to us. And if there’s any chance of unseen footage of baby Zayn, Liam and co showing off and embarrassing themselves, (alongside the footage of current day Zayn, Liam and co showing off and embarrassing themselves, obviously) then definitely count us in.
Stay tuned to Maximum Pop! for more on this as it happens…

Big Time Rush – Elevate album review
Comments
It’s clear that here at Maximum Pop! we love a good boyband, so we’re grateful that relatively new band Big Time Rush have emerged as one of the most prominent successors to the US boyband crown previously held by Backstreet Boys and N*Sync (and now we’re realising our age…).
However, with second album Elevate coming from the success of their self-titled Nickelodeon TV show, have Big Time Rush done enough to cement their places as a band strong enough to challenge the likes of One Direction, JLS and The Wanted here in UK?
Show me the moneysPopstar merchandise: a rip-off or worth every penny? MP! Investigates
Comments
From signed canvases, to glow in the dark wristbands, via flashing Katy Perry head bands – the range of items that pop stars are desperate to stick their names on is greater than ever. For many MP!ers, owning pop star merchandise is almost as important as downloading the music, seeing the live show and planting a big wet one on Siva’s cheek. But are the scary men at the record labels exploiting your desire to be a band’s biggest and most dedicated fan by ripping you off?
Here at MP! we decided it was time to investigate – what are the best deals, how can you get the best bargains and is pop merchandise really overpriced? The answers to all these questions and more are below…
Big Time Rush signing in Manchester: Pop Diary

Some of you told us to write about them. Here you go. Big Time Rush will be signing copies of their new album Elevate in HMV Manchester (Market Street) at 5pm today. Hit like on Facebook if you’re turning up for hugs, kisses, banter and actual music buying. This event has been listed in our Pop Diary.

Tulisa delays solo album, Kelly Rowland gets dirty, Madonna previews video, Nicola Roberts cries and Labrinth is back!
It’s safe to say Tulisa has learned to never mix business with pleasure as it looks like her upcoming debut solo album has been delayed after she split with childhood sweetheart Fazer. Apparently he was “masterminding” the entire thing but decided to take a step back after the two broke up. Awkward.
The next hugely anticipated single to be released from Kelly Rowland’s new album (which charted at the dizzy heights of Number 43) will be the “classy, dirty” (not our words) ‘Lay It On Me’. As Alexandra Burke would say – there’s an elephant in the room. No, literally.
Queen Mother of Pop (that’s Madonna to you) is on the verge of a comeback and will premiere her brand new music video during American Idol this Thursday. Click here to see a clip featuring Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., cheerleaders and the sound of Lady Gaga crying into her pillow.
We don’t know about you but we spend a lot of time here at MP! HQ trying to decide which member of US boy band Big Time Rush is our favourite. If you already know yours, you can now pre-order their new album Elevate with one of the four special individual covers. We think we’ll end up going for Carlos.
We doubt this news will phase Nadine Coyle very much, but it turns out Nicola Roberts was not impressed one bit when Girls Aloud decided to go on their lengthy hiatus. “I felt like I couldn’t see music in my life for a long time.” We reckon this song accurately describes Nadine’s reaction.
Labrinth is back with his third single, ‘Last Time’. It’s a bit more Will.i.am than his previous efforts and we’re not really loving it. Watch the lyrics video here and make your own mind up – but don’t come crying back to us when you realise it’s no ‘Earthquake’…

Should we write about Big Time Rush?
Comments
With The Wanted and One Direction both spending 2012 concentrating on trying to break the US, we’ve been waiting for an import of our own. One of the big American bands that are braving UK shores are Nickelodeon stars Big Time Rush. They’re a pop boy band. They’ve got four members with looks ranging from “quite attractive” to “think I’ll pass”. They dance. They’ve got a brand new single that was co-written with Ryan Tedder of ‘Bleeding Love’ and OneRepublic fame.
This is where YOU guys come in. Check out the video for ‘Music Sounds Better With U’ and the sneaky behind the scenes snaps below and let us know what you think of Big Time Rush… (more…)
