Cher Lloyd challenges Cheryl Cole to sing-off?
Comments
Long gone are the days when everyone reckoned X Factor star Cher Lloyd was desperate to emulate her idol and mentor Cheryl Cole – and it seems complaining that the ‘Fight For This’ star has refused to stay in touch with her wasn’t enough for Cher, who’s launched another attack on Cheryl and even challenged her to sing-off!
During an interview with Real Radio North West’s Real Breakfast Show, Cher was asked if she’d consider teaming up with the ex-Girls Aloud singer. Her answer? “Maybe if she sings live with me.”
Any idea that quote might have just been taken out of context was ruined when the host commented that it sounded like Cher was challenging Cheryl – to which she replied ”Well it always is nowadays, when you haven’t got the nifty little button to press.” – clearly referring to auto-tune, which Cheryl infamously used during her live X Factor performance of ‘Promise This’.
In an ideal world, we’d love to see the two work together on a track for Cheryl’s upcoming third album, but it sounds like Cher has made her mind up. We don’t want to come between them, but we think Cher should remember that she doesn’t always sing live either. Evidence presented below…
Would you like Cher and Cheryl to work together in the future?

Girls represent. After yesterday’s massive boy band ticket give away broke the internet in half, we return with a chance to see oddly-small pop star Cher Lloyd live on her Sticks + Stones tour. Live performances of ‘Want U Back’ and ‘Beautiful People’ that’ll be a lot like this, some fascinating if slightly awkward stage banter about bullying/swagger/h8ters, and – dear god please let this happen – her cover of ‘Stay’. It’s going to be epic. If you want the chance to be in the front row at the venue of your choice simply:

"I'm on MP!? I'd like to thank my friends, my...Cher Lloyd ‘Want U Back’ acoustic: Don’t Miss
Cher Lloyd doesn’t do things by halves. Give her a song and she’ll grunt, snarl, rap and sing her way through it with more enthusiasm and spark than Adele after she got her voice fixed. Watch Cher perform acoustic versions of her new single ‘Want U Back’, plus ‘With Ur Love’, ‘Superhero’ and ‘Beautiful People’ for MTV’s Live Sessions. Enjoy it before her inevitable disappearance to the US, rapidly followed by the ascent to superstar status. Yes, we think she’s good.
Alexandra Burke and Cher Lloyd at G-A-Y: Pop Diary
X Factor stars Alexandra Burke and Cher Lloyd will be performing their new singles ‘Elephant‘ and ‘Want U Back‘ alongside some of their biggest hits at G-A-Y. Catch Burke on March 10th and Lloyd on February 18th. You have to be 18 or over to attend, and we’d advise popping to G-A-Y Bar on Old Compton Street to pick up a £5 entry wristband during the week – entry will be considerably more on the door. We’ve added these events to our Pop Diary. Hit like below if you’re going to attend.

Don’t Quote Me On That!
How come on Jeremy Kyle there’s always tests 2 see who the father is and never tests to see who’s the mum?
Wretch 32 is right guys, how can we be sure that the woman who carried the child in her womb for 9 months is REALLY the baby’s mother?!
I need somebody #DIRRRTY on my Birthday #CAKE ;) lol
Apparently this means Rihanna wants to add Christina Aguilera to the upcoming extended version of her song ‘Birthday Cake’, but our guess is that she’s just being filthy, as per usual.
I’m an old lady trapped inside a young woman’s body, which isn’t a bad thing
Well that explains everything. Suddenly Cher Lloyd makes perfect sense.

Chart Update – Find out where Jessie J, Pixie Lott, Rizzle Kicks, Cher Lloyd and 1D have finished!

*In best radio DJ voice* It’s Sunday, it’s just gone 7pm, the chart results are in!
It was a good week for:
Jessie J. ‘Domino’ has made it two weeks in a row at the top of the charts. How long until that well-known pizza company starts using the song to advertise Two for Tuesdays?
Pixie Lott. ‘Kiss the Stars’ has clawed it’s way up into the top ten and right now is sitting comfortably at Number 8. As Miley says, it’s all about the climb.
One Direction. After premiering their video for ‘One Thing’ last week the boys have finished this week at Number 28. Who wants to bet the track will be the Valentines week Number 1 when it’s officially released on 12th February?
Cher Lloyd. The other big new entry this week is ‘Want U Back’ which also gets its official release next month, the track has entered the midweeks at Number 26, that’s two ahead of 1D.
Gotye. ‘Somebody I used to Know’ is one of this week’s biggest climbers (up 15 to Number 21) which may have something to do with clever cover version that’s currently sweeping Twitter. Watch it so you know what everyone’s talking about at school tomorrow.
It was a bad week for:
Rizzle Kicks. OK Number 2 in the singles chart is exactly soul-shattering but we’re sure the boys were hoping for their first Number 1 without the help of Olly Murs. There’s always next week.
Enter Shikari. After this very loud and shouty band entered the mid-week album chart at Number 1 we were a tad worried. But luckily pop has triumphed over the bullies with Adele moving back into the top spot and Ed Sheeran just behind. In your face.

It’s Wednesday, it’s just gone 4pm which means the mid-week chart results are in!
It’s been a good week (so far) for:
Jessie J. ‘Domino’ is still topping the singles chart after getting the Number 1 spot on Sunday. Her closest rivals for this weekend’s top spot are new entry Swedish House Mafia vs. Knife Party and David Guetta. We know who we’re rooting for…
One Direction. After premiering their video for ‘One Thing’ on Friday the boys have entered the chart at Number 31, ahead of the single’s official release on 12th February. We’re predicting they’re just gonna keep climbing until Sunday. Niall’s dad dancing definitely has something to do with it.
Cher Lloyd. The other big new entry this week is ‘Want U Back’ which gets its official release next month, the track has entered the midweeks at Number 29 just beating 1D.
Kelly Clarkson and Pixie Lott. After some harsh words from MP! on Sunday these two have pulled their socks up with ‘Stronger’ climbing ten places to Number 11 and ‘Kiss The Stars’ now at Number 7. Good work girls.
It’s been a bad week (so far) for:
Pop albums. A very loud and shouty band called Enter Shikari have entered the mid-week album chart at Number 1 leaving Adele, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran in their wake. Big bullies.
Check back on Sunday for the final chart results!
