5 Things That Will Make The 1D Film A Box Office Smash!
The One Direction movie is looming ever closer! Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall and Zayn will be popping up on our big screen for their cinema debut this summer. 1D3D ’This Is Us’ is an access all areas documentary that promises to give us a good look at what went on behind the scenes of the ‘Take Me Home’ Tour. We’re sure the film will be a global success but here are 5 things that we reckon would ensure the flick is a global box office smash:
Zayn/ Perrie Duet
Everyone loves a good love story and Zayn and Perrie are the best love story going on right now in the world of pop. In movies there is only one way to express your love and that is through song, which means a duet is crucial. We are thinking something like ‘You’re The One That I Want’ from Grease or maybe even a ‘Whole New World’. Awww.
Batman has the Joker. Luke Skywalker has Darth Vader. Harry Potter has Voldemort. One Direction have the Wanted. We are hoping for an all out war with The Wanted complete with slow motion punches, dramatic music and samurai swords. Hopefully no one will get hurt and no ones hair will get messed up too badly.
Like a blonde Phantom Of The Opera, we are totally expecting Swifty to be lurking around behind the scenes. The mask and cape are optional (we think she’ll opt for rhinestone ones personally) but we are sure she’ll be following Harry around, knocking lights on top of innocent crew members or at least singing angry songs at the 1D heartthrob from behind a stage curtain or two.
One way to ensure high viewing figures is nudity and one way to ensure your ticket sales go through the roof: Naked One Direction. Perhaps Louis could do a ‘Titanic’ and paint Liam “like one of his French girls” or the boys could have a Magic Mike-inspired fantasy sequence. Or maybe even something like the shower scene in Psycho, minus the psycho. We can dream, right? *sighs*

Directioners, and lots of them!
One thing that already guarantees this movie is going to be massive are One Directions loyal fans, the Directioners. Directioners would go see this film even if it was an hour and a half of them on the loo (and some would prefer that, let’s be honest). 1D love their fans just as much and we are expecting loads of crowd shots of screaming (and swooning) fangirls.
We can’t guarantee that all these things will happen in the film, but we can but hope. However we do know that, in the words of Chezza, we will be “thoroughly entertained”. ‘This is Us’ hits cinemas in the UK on August 23rd.
Little Mix Make US Chart History. POP BITS.
POP BITS. Last week we announced that Little Mix’s debut album ‘DNA’ was soaring up the US itunes chart. It has now been confirmed that the funky foursome have charted within the top 5 of the US Billboard 200. Congrats girls! This means that the ‘How Ya Doin’ singers have smashed a world record for highest charting debut album by a British girl group. The title was previously held by Spice Girls with their 1997 debut album ‘Spice’, which reached Number 6. Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne have been performing and signing albums across the states and their single ‘Wings’ was featured on Glee and American Idol. All their hard work finally paid off and it shows there was truth in the lyrics “These wings were made to fly”, they just forgot the “up the charts across the world” bit. POP BITS OUT.

Little Mix Vs. Pick’n'Mix
It’s about bloody time we had another Popstar Vs. A Vegetable, don’t you think? We thought long and hard about this and then we finally realised: What kind of competition is a vegetable? I mean, if you had a choice between a head of lettuce and Niall Horan, the answer is pretty simple. No one really likes vegetables that much, do they? They’re just there, like Emeli Sande or Matt Cardle. But everyone loves sweets. So this time around we decided to go for: Little Mix Vs. Pick ‘n’ Mix
Origins
Little Mix were hand picked and put together by the Female Boss herself, Tulisa Constopoldrkfbmfmv Tulisa.
Pick’n'Mix are believed to have originated in Woolworths in 1886.
Little Mix 1, Pick’n'Mix 0
Variety
Little Mix has four members: Jesy, Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie.
There are hundreds of different sweets to chose from in a Pick’n'Mix. If you pick one up you don’t like, you can just replace it with another one you do- They’re like the Sugababes of the confectionery world.
Little Mix 0, Pick’n'mix 1

Little Mix went on to win the X Factor, dominate the UK charts and are currently soaring up the US chart.
Who doesn’t love a Pick’n'mix?

Too much Little Mix can lead to excessive dancing.
Too much Pick’n'Mix can lead to cavities and tooth decay.
Little Mix 1, Pick’n'Mix 0
Love Life
Perrie is dating Zayn Malik… ‘Nuff Said.
Pick’n'Mix could be considered quite the heartbreaker- although everyone loves Pick’n'Mix, Pick’n'Mix doesn’t love anyone back.
Little Mix 1, Pick’n'Mix 0
Flavour
Although we are unsure how Little Mix taste (as cannibalism is frowned upon in the UK) we do know that the girls have given us some awesome tunes with an urban pop flavour.
Pick’n'Mix taste great and come in hundreds of different flavours.
Little Mix 1, Pick’n'Mix 1
Final Score- Little Mix 6, Pick’n'Mix 3
Little Mix have slayed the competition with twice as many points as Pick’n'Mix. Congrats girls! You can now hold your head high and say with confidence “I am better than a penny sweet”.
Little Mix’s Album ‘DNA’ Takes The US By Storm. Pop Bits.
POP BITS. Looks like Little Mix are set to make a big splash in the States! Mixers everywhere can now rejoice as the pop quartet’s debut album is flying off the shelves and into people’s iTunes. Jesy, Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie released ‘DNA’ just yesterday and already it’s at Number 2 in the iTunes Chart.
The girls have been working their little wacky-printed butts off to break America with lots of TV and Radio appearances andhave even featured hit US rapper Missy Elliot on their latest track ‘How Ya Doin’. It looks like all this hard work could finally pay off and they might even follow in the footsteps of Perrie’s boyfriend’s band (that’s One Direction, in case you didn’t know) and take the world by storm. We have our fingers, toes and everything crossed for the girls. POP BITS OUT.

Little Mix unveil new single ‘How Ya Doin?’. POP BITS.
POP BITS. Continuing their running streak of giving us great single after great single, Little Mix have gone released album fan favourite ‘How Ya Doin?’ from their first album DNA. Thankfully the whole song’s a bit of a tune and a half with plenty of 90s beats, half-rapped verses and a killer chorus that’s all about phone conversations with people that turn annoying. Gaga eat your heart out.
Best of all is the guest verse from rapping LEGEND Missy Elliot who’s 30 second bridge is a snapping delight and easily one of the best ‘rappers popping up in a pop song’ moments we’ve heard in the past few years. The ultra-colourful video which is a bit of a successor to the ‘Wings’ video is also nice. Keep up the good work girls! POP BITS OUT.

Little Mix Vs. The Saturdays: Who’s our new favourite girlband?
Yesterday was a dark day for pop when Girls Aloud announced that they will be joining Spice Girls in the graveyard of “Great Girl Groups Gone by”. We have finally stopped crying (on the metro) and dusted ourselves off and wondered: Who will carry the Girls Aloud gauntlet? With The Saturdays on course to be number 1 the same week that Girls Aloud stepped down, many people believe that they could take the crown. But Little Mix are dominating charts and with a talent show win under their belt, could they snatch the title? It’s time to settle this. We did want a ‘Walk This Way- Sugababes Vs Girls Aloud’ re-creation but it was outside our budget so we’re going to pit them against each other the way we do it best… with a Maximum Pop! Versus!
Who?
Years together?
Number 1′s
Do they have their own TV Show?
Who have they collaborated with?
Did they win X Factor?
Love Life
Hair Rating.
Member most likely to join the X Factor judging panel?
If they were a boyband, who would they be?
Would they get thrown out of a party for being too rowdy?
Now it’s time for the Aloud Analysis:
Who’s the Nadine?
Who’s the Cheryl?
Who’s the Sarah?
Who’s the Nicola?
Who’s the Kimberely?
So, do you think one of these girl groups can fill the void left in our hearts by Girls Aloud? Which band of beauties should come out on top? Are The Saturdays something you look forward to all week? Or maybe you think Little Mix ‘Change Your Life’ whenever they’re on your mp3?
So there we have it! With a fairly conclusive 65% of the vote, The Saturdays are our new favourite girlband. Glad that’s sorted. Hurrah!
Little Mix collaborate with Missy Elliott. POP BITS.
POP BITS. It’s one of the first rules of pop singles – if you already had an album out for a while, you’ll need a guest rapper on the fourth single (or is this the fifth – does ‘Cannonball’ count?) in order to make the ‘Single Version’ of a song different from the ‘Album Version’. That’s just a rule. So in ‘collaborations-we-never-thought-we’d-see’ news, Little Mix have enlisted the help of none other than global rap superstar Missy Elliott for their single ‘How Ya Doin”.
The obviously starstruck girls said, “we honestly can’t believe Missy is on our song! She’s been one of our biggest idols forever – it’s incredible. As soon as we thought there might be a chance she’d appear on the track we did literally everything we could to make sure it happened.” We don’t blame them. We think Missy will actually be a good fit for the funky-old-school single. Hopefully Missy’s involvement will turn some heads in the US and get the girls the global superstardom they deserve. The single will be released on our humble shores on 14th April. POP BITS OUT.
Little Mix talk second album! POP BITS.
POP BITS. Fresh off their first UK tour, our favourite girlband Little Mix have been letting slip details about their plans for their sophomore effort, the follow up to Top 10 debut ‘DNA’. ”We’re starting the second album soon. It’s come round so quickly!”, Jade said in an interview, also confirming they’d be focusing more on an R&B and dance sound.
Jesy also confirmed that she wants some dancefloor fillers on the album, but more Eve & Gwen’s ‘Let Me Blow Your Mind’ rather than a David Guetta song. Guess we won’t be hearing him do a guest spot on the album then. POP BITS OUT.

Little Mix ladies talk Jesy’s body, and getting physical. POP BITS
POP BITS. Little Mix’ Jesy always gets a lot of flack compared to the rest of the Little Mixers for her weight. But today, in a chat with Heat, the girls praised their bootylicious bandmate on a body the rest of them would kill to have.
“We all tell Jesy how much we want her curves.” Jade Thirwall told the magazine. “We all feel like little girls and she’s got this great body that everybody wants. She’s really toned, [her body’s] amazing,”
Jesy herself even admitted all those vigorous dances have kept her in ship shape.
“I wish I didn’t have this body! I guess it’s all the dancing. I’ve still got my boobs and my bum.”
Hurray. Glad those didn’t fall off.
Speaking of dancing, Jesy told us that the upcoming video ifor the next single ‘How Ya Doin” is to be “very animated, and has lot’s of choreography.”
Sounds very exciting. All this anticipation is more than enough of a workout for us. Pass the Jaffa Cakes. POP BITS OUT.
MP!’s Fit Awards – Fittest Group that aren’t One Direction
The Brit Awards 2013 contains far too many dull popstars, and far too many dull categories, so we at MP! have decided to create our own awards. Rather than rewarding dullness, we’re rewarding the things that really matter – brilliant hair, odd trousers, fanatical instagramming and omnipresent nipples. We’ll be announcing the categories and the nominees over the next few days and will announce the results alongside the (now largely irrelevant) Brit Awards results on Wednesday.
FITTEST GROUP THAT AREN’T ONE DIRECTION
We looked at the Brits’ Best British Group category. Then we fell asleep a bit. There’s quite a lot of boring bands on the list. So we decided to do a much more fun Fittest Group award. But we know you guys. We knew One Direction would walk it. So we’ve disqualified One Direction on account of them being too pretty. So who’s the Fittest Group that aren’t One Direction?
- STOOSHE – Courtney, Karis & Alexandra just want you to love them. The brightly-coloured neon-haired ladies have a distinct look that makes them stand out from the rest of the pop crowd. Are these the girls for you?
- JLS – The original princes of boyband super stardom have been overtaken by 1D and The Wanted. But do Marvin & co. still push your buttons? They're likely to get their nipples out for votes. That's got to help?
- THE WANTED – They're not bad to look at are they?
- LITTLE MIX – One Direction are very prettY, but Little Mix are also very pretty, but in the girl way. Which is different. Our favourite X-Factor winners keep getting prettier and prettier. It's just not fair!
- UNION J – Without doubt these guys have the best wardrobe in pop (Josh's jacket being the exception here). Possibly even better than One Direction's. But they also have immaculate hair and nice faces. If 1D aren't careful, Union J could overtake them as our new crushes.
- DISTRICT 3 – 3eeks: ASSEMBLE! Our favourite ab-flashing, cheesey dancing teens need your votes. These boys are favourites amongst MP! HQ. We're going to spend the next five hours voting for them.
