Olly Murs suffers another wardrobe malfunction. POP BITS.
POP BITS. Poor Olly Murs should probably consider getting himself a new tailor. Last night in Cardiff, whilst performing on stage, Olly ripped his trousers. Again. It seems that either Olly needs to find some looser trousers or he needs to tone down his dance moves. He’ll end up doing himself an injury.
But of course, this is not Olly’s first (and probably won’t be his last) wardrobe malfunction. In fact, Olly’s trouser-ripping antics have become a trademark of his – it’s become not so much a case of “if” but “when”. For purely nostalgic reasons, let’s watch his first ever trouser rip, back in February 2012.
Purely nostalgic obviously. POP BITS OUT.

Olly Murs Vs Cauliflower
What with Olly Murs’ hotly anticipated UK Tour underway and his newest single ‘Army of Two’ freshly released and with hot cauliflower fresh off our plates… we thought it was time for another ‘Pop Star Versus A Vegetable’ (said in booming X Factor Man’s voice).
Popularity
Olly Murs is very popular. He finished second in the X Factor in 2009 as well as hosting the Xtra Factor for the last two years, and everyone we know is crossing their fingers and toes that he’s doing it again this year. He’s currently touring around the UK, even playing the o2 arena, has had three multi platinum albums and four number 1 singles. He has also toured with One Direction and Robbie Williams. Need we continue?
Cauliflower is not very popular, particularly with people under the age 16.
Olly 1, Cauliflower 0
Full Name
Olly’s full name is Oliver Stanley Murs, which is quite a sexy name.
Cauliflower’s full name is Brassica Oleracea, which is not a cool name, not even the Beckham’s would call their child that.
Olly 1, Cauliflower 0
Family
Olly is part of the ‘Murs’ Family. His mum’s name is Vicky and his dad’s name is Peter. He has sister called Fay and a twin brother called Ben, who he doesn’t really talk to.
Cauliflower is part of the ‘Cole’ crop- but unfortunately is no relation to Cheryl. However, it is in the same family as brussel sprouts, broccoli mustard, turnip, watercress and kale, which is pretty impressive for a vegetable.
Olly 0, Cauliflower 1
Looks
Olly Murs is considered quite a handsome celebrity and has left many girls swooning with his cheeky grin.
Let’s be honest, cauliflower is a very unattractive vegetable.
Olly 1, Cauliflower 0
Health Benefits
Listening to Olly Murs’ music is scientifically proven to make you dance and improves fitness- ok, it’s not really scientifically proven, but who can resist a shimmy when ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ comes on?
Cauliflower contains vitamins C and B6, as well as folate. These are all very good for you.
Olly 0, Cauliflower 1
Talent
Olly Murs came second in the X Factor and has sold out tours across the UK and Ireland, so of course he’s talented.
If cauliflower was to enter X Factor, it would get a ‘Sorry it’s a no, pet’ from Chezza and probably be told he reminded Louis Walsh of “a young stalk of broccoli”.
Olly 1, Cauliflower 0
Variety
Sadly, there is only one Olly Murs- unless you count the ‘Army of Two’ video which has several.
There are three types of cauliflower: white cauliflower, broccoflower and the purple headed cauliflower.
Olly 0, Cauliflower 1
Final Score: Olly 4, Cauliflower 3
Fortunately, Olly was able to beat cauli in our vote winning 92% of the vote. Well done everyone!
VIDEO OFF: Nicole Scherzinger Vs Olly Murs – NOW CLOSED
Olly Murs and Nicole Scherzinger have a lot in common. They are both part of the UK’s biggest singing competition ‘The X-Factor, make great pop music’… AND they both have a singles out this Sunday (Ok, maybe they don’t have that much in common). We like both songs and are not content to wait until Sunday to find out the nations verdict, so we opted for the only thing that really matters… A Maximumpop video off!

Number in clone army?
Far too many to count. They even start merging into one near the end, like a Human Scherzinger Centipede!
We counted 10 at one point, which leads us to believe that Olly wasn’t very good at math in school, as an army of 10 is significantly more than 2
Is there a heavy security presence in the video?
Yes. Judging by the number of CCTV cameras, Scherzy has recently committed a felony
For a car park, surprisingly little. We will be parking our car elsewhere.
Use of ladder rating?
There are no ladders.
Seven. There is quite a lot of moody posing on ladders but it’s nowhere near Britney Spears ‘Stronger’ ladder usage status.

Quite a bit actually.
Just slow motion walking and the occasional point or fist shake (kind of like an old man)

Embarrassing Vevo Still Rating (which you can see above)
10 – Nicole looks like she drank a slushee a little too quickly.
4 – Not that embarrassing. A bit like someone taking a photo when you least expect it.
The fight is over. It really was neck-and-neck with Olly winning with just 50.75% of the vote. Well done to Olly and the army of two.
MP!’s Fit Awards – The Results
The Brit Awards 2013 contains far too many dull popstars, and far too many dull categories, so we at MP! have decided to create our own awards. Rather than rewarding dullness, we’re rewarding the things that really matter – brilliant hair, dedication to hats and omnipresent nipples. We’re ready and set to announce our winners alongside the Brit Awards.
- BEST BREAKTHROUGH NIPPLE – HARRY STYLES' THIRD NIPPLE – Well done Third Nipple. You always had this in the bag. You thrashed the other nipples taking 66% of the vote. We hear the nipple is already playing an all-nighter at the Ivy – whether Harry likes it or not!
- FITTEST GROUP THAT AREN'T 1D – DISTRICT 3 – This was our most hotly contested category. Over 2000 votes in this category. First it looked like Little Mix would walk it, then Union J took the lead. But soon it was a two-horse race between District 3 and the Wanted. District 3 won with 720 votes to the Wanted's 646. Well done boys & well done 3eeks!
- BEST BRITISH HAIR – ZAYN MALIK – We'll be honest, we love Zayn, we love Zayn's hair. We're happy this happened. After a brief lead by Max George, Zayn destroyed the competition and taking 639 votes. The way that he slicks his hair leaves us overwhelmed.
- BEST INTERNATIONAL HAIR – JEDWARD – It was always going to be Jedward. Firstly, their hair is iconic. Secondly, no-one takes on Planet Jedward.
- BEST SINGLE – NIALL HORAN – Cheeky little Niall has been breaking hearts the world over this year (including that of Selena Gomez) . Winning 45% of your vote, Niall beat his fellow 1D member Harry Styles into second.
- BEST HAT IN POP – MISHA B – And what a hat! The hat itself was double nominated and battle commenced between Misha B and Little Mix's Jesy who both wore the hat. It was close, but Misha B ended up winning with 38% of the vote. Conor Maynard only got 5.6% of the vote. Perhaps switch to scarfs next year Conor?
- SPECIAL AWARD – GLOBAL SUCCESS IN HATS – OLLY MURS – Because so many of you were (quite rightly) mad at us missing Olly in the 'Best Hat in Pop' category. No-one wears them quite like Olly…
A huge thank you to everyone that voted! We had nearly 7000 votes across all the categories.
Loveable Rogues announce ‘What a Night’ as their debut single, touring with Olly Murs
We love boy bands. Who doesn’t? – crazy people that’s who. But being a boy-band is difficult. It really is an intricate art. It’s not just about smiling, having nice hair and flashing a nipple (honest!) To be successful boy-bands have to have ‘it’. Sometimes, regrettably, boy-bands just don’t have ‘it’, sometimes they have to work at ‘it’ and sometimes, there’s a little gem of a boy-band that has ‘it’ in abundance without even trying. The Loveable Rogues are the very lucky few in the latter category.
About a year ago they walked into Britain’s Got Talent as the total package, ready to be flung straight into super-stardom. They have it all, the look, the voices, a ukulele, and, most importantly, the tunes. They even write their own stuff. So it’s with much excitement we await the release of their debut single ‘What A Night’ which is set to be released 21st April.
They’ve enlisted Ed Drewett to help out on the single. It’s everything you’d expect from the Loveable Rogues – witty and riotous ska-infused, folk-pop delivered with a smile and a wink. And of course, it’s both loveable and roguish. If you haven’t heard it yet, click below. And get ready, it’s going to be all over the radio for the next six months and the chorus will stay with you for days.
It gets even better for the boys, because they’re about to go on tour with Olly Murs. Eddie of the band is as shocked as anyone by the boys’ success, ‘It’s crazy to think that this time last year we were playing pubs and clubs up and down the country and now we’re joining Olly on tour, playing the biggest arenas in the country’.
The video for ‘What a Night’ is set to appear some point next week and we can’t wait to hear the rest of the album the boys have spent the last six months working on. If you fancy seeing the Rogues supporting Olly Murs, details can be found here.
Olly Murs arena tour support – it’s Loveable Rogues!
Huzzah! Cheeky hat loving pop star Olly Murs will be joined on his upcoming 20-date arena tour with none other than Britain’s Got Talent finalists Loveable Rogues.
For those with rubbish memories, in the days before Union J were the Next Big Thing and anyone knew who the hell Lucy Spraggan is, best mates Té, Eddie and Sonny were the 3 piece ukelele strumming, ditty singing, ‘Love Sick’ chaps that were winning fine praise and Twitter follows from the BGT judging panel and the likes of Little Mix and JLS.
Since then, they’ve been signed to Mr Chest Hairs very own record label, worked with the likes of Ed Drewett (The Wanted) and Ms D (Wiley’s ‘Heatwave’), and made this pretty cool and incredibly cheap (free) mix tape:
