Parade perform new song ‘Never Be The Same’ live – and it’s bloody brilliant
Comment
Last month Parade released a free download of a Tim-Powell produced track ‘Light Me Up’ which went on to get 60,000 views, thousands of downloads, radio play and the thumbs-up from MTV, Yahoo!, Popjustice and Muumuse, all without a label, bags of cash or much hope. Fair to say it was A Very Big Success. But was it a fluke? Could the band whose debut album missed the top 100 by a very wide margin, deliver *again*?
Creepy, hypnotic, rave-y, brilliant – take a listen to ‘Never Be The Same’ another track from the Tim sessions performed yesterday at Sundown Festival for the first time, and mentioned here in our Gossip Round Up. This song is a cast-iron statement of intent, positions Parade as officially Ones To Watch all over again, and is approximately 6 million times better than ‘Perfume’. Basically, everything Jess, Bianca, Lauren, Emily and Sian should have done since day 1.
We don’t know what’s going to happen to Parade over the next few months; what we do know is, they’re creating some of the best girl band pop of the last few years – and all without the resources of their contemporaries – which is not far from a miracle. Well done girls, have a Dime bar on us.

GMD3 on X Factor next week, Girls Aloud Greatest Hits, Parade about to be signed?, Little Mix and Stooshe’s new singles
Rumours, gossip and stuff we dreamt about last week. Welcome to the MP! Gossip Round Up starring GMD3, Girls Aloud, Stooshe, Parade and Little Mix.
Eagle-eyed MP!ers have let us know to look out for GMD3 on next week’s X Factor after seeing them in the trailer. We’ve heard, the boys – managed by The Wanted’s and The Saturdays’ old manager Jayne Collins – got 4 big YESs and have made it to the Judge’s Houses stage of the competition.
Are Girls Aloud back in the studio working on new music? YES. Are they working with long term collaborators Xenomania? YES. And, what’s this amazing new music for? Well, a loud-mouth pop star friend of MP! has told us that the Alouders are planning a Greatest Hits package featuring a few new songs. Bad news for those who were hoping for a new album from The Ginge & Co :(
In other girlgroup news… we’ve heard a couple of BIG record labels are interested in signing Parade after their free download of ‘Light Me Up’ got almost 60,000 plays on YouTube and Soundcloud. And if they’re not yet convinced, they will be after they hear the MASSIVE tune the girls recorded with Ed Drewett (the chap who wrote ‘Glad You Came’) and Tim Powell, which the girls were nice enough to play us recently. And don’t get us started on the song written to a dead person… yes, really.
Little Mix are set to top the charts later today with (proper) debut single ‘Wings’ and we’ve heard the second single is also massive. ‘Super Bass’ and ‘Rude Boy’ songwriter Ester Dean supposedly wrote the track. Wowza – the Little Mix album is starting to look very exciting. Boy’d.
After the massive never-ending success of ‘Black Heart’ have Stooshe changed their plans for their third single? We heard it was set to be the mental shout-a-long ‘Kiss Chase’ but has been replaced with the 60s stylings of ‘See Me Like This’. Who would’ve thought that the Technicolor group would subscribe to the ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ (pop music) school of thought?
We want your gossip, rumours and detective work. If you’ve heard something t(p)op secret and want to share it with the world, drop us an email with your rumour and any evidence you have. All gossip treated in confidence – we respect your anonymity.
Parade perform new songs ‘Light Me Up’ and ‘Knockbacks’ live
Earlier this week, all singing, all-dancing, all-amazing girlgroup Parade kicked off their comeback properly with a live performance at This Must Be Pop Live in London’s Queen of Hoxton. Not only did the girls bang out their first live performance of free download ‘Light Me Up’ (with a dance break that will make your trousers fall off), but they also slowed things down with a new song ‘Knockbacks’, a tune they wrote for their fans about reaching for your dreams. Have you got any tissues?

Little Mix ‘Wings’ Vs Parade ‘Light Me Up’ – it’s Song Off time
Two massive girl groups. Two stonking pop tunes. Let’s fight.
Alarm Pop!! Parade ‘Light Me Up’ – lyric video and FREE mp3 download!
Parade are BACK.
The girls have been busy in the studio for months working on their second album. ’Light Me Up’ is the first new song from the sessions and was recorded with pop genius Tim Powell.
It is a ridiculously catchy pop banger that we’ve been singing all morning, and with this helpful lyric video soon you will be too!
What’s more, you can download it for free (that’s ZERO PENCE) right here! What a lovely Wednesday morning surprise. *updates iPod*
‘Light Me Up’ is amazing and we can’t wait to hear more of what Parade have in store.

Things we can gather from Parade’s ‘Light Me Up’ snippet
So Parade, as was announced on Twitter last week, are dropping a brand new tune by the name of ‘Light Me Up’ on August 1. That, countdown fans, is 13 days from today. And this, snippet fans, is 20ish seconds of it.
Tim ‘Girls Aloud/Sugababes/Paloma Faith’ Powell is the one twiddling the knobs, which explains how hilariously excited we are to hear the full cut, and the track is the first to be unveiled from the girls’ exciting ‘sessions’ towards Album No2, which apparently is being geared up for an early 2013 release.
So what can we deduce from that brief teaser?

The Voice tour has been cancelled, new Lawson single *today*, Luminites featured in ad, Parade goss, Zayn Malik naked
2Comments
All your pop goss needs in six bite-sized stories. Let’s go… First up, bad news if you paid out for tickets to see The Voice UK Live later this year. It was confirmed yesterday that the 11-date tour has been cancelled due to “lack of ticket sales”. Poor Leanne, Vince and err…
After finding themselves inside the top 5 last month, the Lawson boys are set to reveal their second single at 7pm TODAY. Tune in to Alex on IN:DEMAND to hear the single first. We’re hoping for something a little less dull than debut ‘When She Was Mine’ – c’mon boys! More details.
Congrats to pop ones-to-watch and MP! favourites Luminites whose song ‘Top Of The World (All Dressed Up)’ has been used in an advert for Microsoft’s bing search engine. You can watch the TV advert here and listen to the original mix of ‘All Dressed Up’ over on YouTube.
Parade are in the studio and have been working with Tim Powell, Ed Drewett, Rymez, Jamal Hadaway and… STEFAN FROM THE MIDNIGHT BEAST. Yes, the guy who did *that* Ke$ha parody and seminal pop moment, the sexual-exploitation-referencing, ‘Lez Be Friends’. This should be brilliant. PIC.
Talking of brilliant music, we were lucky enough to spend some time with producer K-Gee who masterminded energetic pop tuuuuune ‘Intro Intro’ for Little Nikki. We heard some other tracks he’s working on for LN and The Woos Woos and we’re pleased to tell you that they sound *massive*. Prepare to be impressed.
Bit old, but worth another look. Zayn Malik naked tweet. We repeat ZAYN MALIK NAKED TWEET. *Splish splash*
Dr Agombar Will See You Now…
Jessica Parade takes time out from recording her second album with the likes of Tim Powell, MNEK and Futurecut to answer your personal life dilemmas. From big boobs to first kisses, Doctor Agombar will see you now.
Hi Doctor Agombar. I’m going camping for the first time next week, but I’m going to be on my period whilst we’re away. Is it true that wolves out in the wilderness can sense when you’re on your period and that they try to take you away to breed with you? Thanks! Hillary, 14
Cor Blimey I’ve never heard of that! That is defo a myth babes. I tell ya what, pack some tampons and a hot water bottle and you will be sweet. Also if the wolf looks anything like Jacob from Twilight then there’s nothing to be worried about!
Hello Dr Agombar. I’ve got a new job as a singer in a girl band called Stooshe and I’m now required to swear at least 54 times a day. Is this dangerous and could it lead to Tourette’s in the future? Courtney, 18
Courtney as long as ya ain’t swearing in front of kids there ain’t a problem! Ya gotta luv the F word! I don’t think this is dangerous and it won’t lead to Tourette’s but ya could make a swear jar and each time put some money in and by the sounds of it the amount you swear you will be racking it in in no time.
Parade cover Lil Wayne & Nicki Minaj ‘Knockout’, are perfect

After renditions of hits from One Direction, Pixie Lott and Justin Bieber, Emily, Sian, Jessica, Lauren and Bianca are back with their take on Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Knockout’. This attitude-full cover goes straight into our favourites, and as usual the harmonies are as smooth and well blended as the whiskey we’ve had too much of tonight. *Hic* Now get back to working on album 2 girls.

Parade working with Ed Drewett, Tim Powell, Fred Ball on new album! Huzzah!
Update: According to this tweet, the girls are now in the studio with Fred Ball who has worked with JLS, Little Boots, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Samsaya, Daley and Little Mix and looks like this.
Parade are busy working on their second album and although they might not have a record deal, pop’s most underrated girlgroup *do* have a series of hit-makers lining up to write with them. Today brings news that attractive Essex chap and The Wanted’s ‘All Time Low’ / ‘Glad You Came’ songwriter Ed Drewett and pal Tim Powell are working with Sian, Emily, Jessica, Lauren and Bianca. Yes, that’s Tim Powell of Xenomania fame who had a hand in The Sugababes and Girls Aloud’s finest moments. Huzzah. More Parade news as and when we get it find it on twitter.
