Download or Ditch: The Wanted – ‘She Walks Like Rihanna’
Fresh from making a hell of an impact on the US shores, our favourite cheeky manband are back with a new sound and a new single, the amazingly-titled ‘She Walks Like Rihanna’. Is this an ode from Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and Tom to their favourite globe-trotting, sass-spouting singing starlet or is it just a generic term for any sexy young thing?
Well, it’s both really – it’s the equivalent of a bit of a backhanded compliment from the boys as they claim that their object of affection “can’t sing, she can’t dance, but who cares, ‘cos she walks like Rihanna”. Charming! Fortunately the boys are back to a pure pop sound, having tucked their glowsticks and Jagerbombs away in favour of making us sing along with pure unadultered catchiness. This is one most definitely for the radio.
It’s a ridiculously fun and happy song, one that’ll be a staple for the long hot summer ahead (we hope anyway) and it’s such a great return for the lads after a bit of time away. The video’s also pretty cool and is full of references to all the classic boybands.

Rihanna’s clothing line in shops today POP BITS
POP BITS. Ever wanted to dress like Rihanna? I’m sure you’re not the only girl in the world to feel that way. If it’s clothing that you want, don’t dismay. The singer of brilliant songs and wearer of brilliant clothes has designed loads of clothes for River Island and you can get your hands on them from today.
Rihanna’s eclectic dress sense has been the talk of the town for a while. But rather than just a range of bra ‘tops’ and short shorts, as she wears on stage, Rihanna’s clothing line is apparently versatile, reflecting Rihanna’s various moods. Her mood swings have given the collection a range of different attitudes. It’s alright because she loves the clothes you buy.
Rihanna told Now magazine“I wanted it be for all body types and I wanted girls to really want to wear this and feel comfortable in it but still edgy. I wanted the character to come out in the clothes without trying too hard.”
Now you too can find love (for clothes) in a hopeless place (River Island). Is River Island a hopeless place? Well, it is for this metaphor to work. POP BITS OUT.

Here’s Misha B covering Rihanna’s most recent chart topper ‘Diamonds’ injecting some soul into the tune with this part mellow and part snarling interpretation. And although we think there are probably better songs Misha could’ve stripped of their massive production, her effortless, enchanting voice had us from the first note. Misha’s new single ‘Do You Think Of Me’ is released November 4th.
Alexandra Burke talks dream collaborations, fancying Rihanna and breaking America!
I have loads of shows across the country, I am travelling a lot. I have been so busy so my brain is just on overload at the moment! I managed to get a break in Miami which I surprised my sister with but I had to have some very exciting meetings over there, that’s why I took her over with me.
There seems to be a lot of support growing for you in America – will you be trying to break the American market?
My American fans are really getting behind me, I will be going over there, I can promise you and I will break America! It is happening but in God’s time. It has to be in God’s time. I cannot rush it.
Who would you love to collaborate with?
When I do go to the States I would like to work with Usher, Beyoncé, Rihanna and Chris Brown. I was hanging with Usher last time he was in the UK!
Do you ever listen to your own music?
I love all of my songs but I could never listen to them! The only times I can do that is on the stage or in the studio. Actually, I heard a couple of my tracks in Superdrug not long ago and I started walking around listening.
When it comes to image, the words “compete” and “competition” are not in my vocabulary. There is enough room for everyone in this industry because we all are so diverse. I like to be me, I do like my curves, I like my hips and I love my booty and it ain’t going nowhere, EVER!!
What advice would you give to Little Mix?
If I could tell everyone one thing it would be that they are unique and they are special, there is nobody out there who looks like you or is anything like you. Once you find what you love to do in terms of music then stick to it because if you’re loving it and the fans are loving it then you will have no regrets!
Finally, do you have a celebrity crush at the moment?
The only person I have my eye on is Rihanna. No men, just Rihanna. She is SMOKING HOT.

Things have been a wee bit quiet on planet Saturdays since ’30 Days’ hit the top ten back in May, but the girls have been far from idle – not only recording new music but also making some serious legwork over the pond, where they’re gearing up to launch themselves onto an unsuspecting American public. Could they follow the likes of Adele, Ellie Goulding and One Direction to the top of the US charts? Here’s what we’ve learned so far…
They’ve got a new single coming out!
It’s called ‘What About Us’ and as well as being their 14th(!) UK single, it’s also going to be their very first American release in January 2013.
They’ve already nabbed some Hollywood fans!
Celebrity gossip blogger and self-proclaimed ‘Queen of all Media’ Perez Hilton has been championing the girls for months, and they’ll be performing their first ever American show at his ‘One Night in LA’ event this Thursday, alongside Rita Ora, Far East Movement and US X Factor winner Melanie Amaro. Not a bad start!
They have their own American TV show!
These days you’re nobody in the US of A until you’ve got your own reality TV show following your every move. Despite not technically being famous in America yet, the Sats have landed a fly-on-the-wall documentary series on the prestigious E! channel – home of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The series will follow the girls in their valiant efforts to make it in America.
They’re going to all the best events!
Una and co certainly aren’t wasting any time during their extended stay in the States. They’ve managed to nab tickets to this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, where they’ll be partying with the likes of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift! Blimey!
They haven’t forgotten the UK!
British fans need not worry that the Saturdays have “done a Natasha Bedingfield” and abandoned their home shores forever at the first whiff of a US hit. ‘What About Us’ will be released here in the UK before the girls kick off their American campaign. We’ll be able to bring you all the details very soon, but the buzz is that it’s going to be a big one!
So there you have it. If Little Mix think they can take the crown of the UK’s favourite girlband, they may have a fight on their hands!
Rihanna VMA performance news!
Rihanna is no stranger to a collaboration or two so it should come as no surprise to learn that she’s enlisted some special guests for her MTV VMA performance!
The Bajan superstar is just one of many performers appearing at tomorrow’s LA bash and it’s been revealed she’ll be opening the show alongside Calvin Harris with their megahit, ‘We Found Love’, followed by a new version of ‘Cockiness’.
‘Cockiness’, from RiRi’s sixth album Talk That Talk, is looking likely to be the next single as she’s just unleashed an official remix featuring rapper A$AP Rocky, who’s set to join her onstage tomorrow evening.

JLS: album #4 – five things we have learned!
JLS are one of those groups who seem like complete work-a-holics… it feels like just yesterday they announced their previous album and now here we are in September 2012 with ANOTHER one on the way already. Still, we’re not complaining if the music stays as poptastic as it always has been!
JLS have had more number ones in the UK than any other X Factor act and have sold out over ten nights at London’s O2 Arena, a record matched only by pop icons Take That and the Spice Girls! But that’s old news, you want to find out what’s NEW on the good ship JLS, right? Right. So here it is:
Album #4 is called Evolution
It will be released on 5 November 5 and the lads chose the title because it explains their new sound. This will be their fourth album since graduating from The X Factor in 2008. An album per year! Wowzers.
Their new material is “very grown up”
JB, Aston, Oritise and Marvin describe the first single as being a sleek, modern club song which takes the group out of pop territory. Hang on a second – out of pop territory? Will we need our passports?!
The single? It’s called… ‘The Hottest Girl In The World’
…and according to the lads themselves, they “go in” on the high notes. Well, it just wouldn’t be a JLS track without a few acrobatic vocals thrown in for good measure, would it?!
They’ve worked with some pretty BIG producers…
‘The Hottest Girl In The World’ was produced by Bangladesh, who has worked with Beyoncé and Usher! That’s quite a pop pedigree. Other producers on the album include Rodney Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears) and The Runners (Chris Brown, Rihanna)
A deluxe version of the album will be released too!
It will include bonus tracks and previously unreleased tracks! Rumour has it some acoustic versions of your favourite JLS hits might be on there too.

Rihanna performs with Coldplay in Paris!
Party girl Rihanna was in London for most of last week, but it was strictly business for the pop superstar as she began work with River Island on her fashion collection, due to be released next year.
Last night, however, the singer took the last train to Paris (literally!) to join her friends Coldplay on stage at their Stade De France show.
Ri-Ri and Coldplay performed their collaboration, ‘Princess of China’, and a unique version of ‘Umbrella’.
The concert was recorded for a forthcoming live DVD, but in the meantime here’s a clip of the ‘Princess of China’ performance – what a lucky crowd!
Mutya Keisha Siobhan – five things we’ve learned!
So, the original Sugababes have reformed, but of course they can’t call themselves Sugababes because that’s still Heidi, Jade and Amelle (except when it comes to stationery and gift wrapping, but we’ll ignore that because frankly this is making our heads hurt already). What matters is that Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan – the ice cool trio who scored early Suga-hits ‘Overload’ ‘New Year’ and ‘Run For Cover’ – are back, back BACK!
Now trading under the imaginative band name Mutya Keisha Siobhan, they’ve been secretively working on new material for the best part of a year now and we’re finally close to hearing the first fruits of their labours. Here are five things we learned from their first ever post-reformation interview with the ever-wonderful Popjustice.
The album isn’t out until 2013
Boo! But there is a new single pencilled in for November. Does this mean an X Factor performance could be on the cards? That intro-video would certainly be interesting…
They’ve been working with some interesting people
Teen production whizz MNEK, who co-wrote ‘All Fired Up’ for The Saturdays and ‘Home Run’ for Misha B, is one such interesting person. Others include ex-Blazin’ Squad members Mojam, Spice Girls wizard Biff Stannard and Girls Aloud architects Xenomania! OMG!
Some song titles ‘n’ stuff
‘Drum’ – a repetitive dance track inspired by Rihanna
‘Back in the Day’ – a TLC-esque early 90s jam
‘Too In Love’ – the first song they sang together on since the One Touch days
‘Love Me Hard’ – written with Biff and former Triple 8-er Iain James. Remember Triple 8?
Siobhan’s favourite post-One Touch Sugababes song is ‘Stronger’
She also likes ‘Freak Like Me’. The girls are open to performing songs from post-Siobhan incarnations at their gigs. We wonder what Heidi, Jade and Amelle will make of that?
They wouldn’t say no to a Girls Aloud duet
But they’re not – unsurprisingly – so keen on the idea of getting together with the current Sugababes lineup.
Overall it sounds like the MKS “project” is going pretty swimmingly so far, and the girls are determined not to repeat the mistakes that saw them fall apart the first time around. With some seriously cool producers on-board and fan excitement at fever pitch, this is bound to be one of the most interesting comebacks of the next 12 months. We do sort of hope the “other” Sugababes come back with some goodies too though, there’s plenty of room on pop’s playground after all, and a good old fashioned chart battle could be just the thing to boost record sales for both groups.
