Is anybody feeling just a teeny bit depressed that they’ll be sitting down to a meal for one and crying over ‘The Notebook’ this Valentine’s Day? Not just us then. Fear not faithful MP! readers some of the biggest names in pop are on hand to help you get over the lack of love in your life with Top Of The Pops magazine’s Celeb Valentine’s Survival Guide.
Selena Gomez says “I used to do notes in a locker… I was always nervous about confrontation with boys. I’m still awful at it, so I think notes are cute.”
One Direction‘s Niall Horan gives you tips to bag your own Victoria’s Secret model by offering “Before asking someone out, just hint for a while… If the signs are good, just go for it straight out.”
New teen starlet Elyar Fox gave his most, er… charming tip: “Don’t shove your tongue down someone’s throat… Because everyone is different there is no one way to kiss.”
Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson tells us that if we don’t really like someone, don’t pretend: “It’s not fair to lead him on. End it to spare his feelings.”

The New Zealand singer is STILL attacking her fellow female artists after slamming Selena Gomez for being “anti-feminist”. In a new interview with The Sun, Lorde has picked a row with Britney Spears, and even spoken about the late Amy Winehouse.
“I’ll never go off the rails like Britney [Spears]. Or do an Amy [Winehouse], because my upbringing was so normal,” she told the newspaper. “I can’t touch alcohol at my age. And I’m not sure I even want to, when I’m older.”
Lorde has also spoken about moving to LA, saying she could never do it because the place turns her into “a freak”.
“I don’t think I could ever live in Los Angeles,” she continued. “It does something to your soul. The place really infects people – if I stay there for too long, I start being a freak!” Now that’s something we wouldn’t like to see… POP BITS OUT.
“Who would say such things!” we hear you cry. Well according to Selena, she is often told on a daily basis that she isn’t sexy or cool! What a travesty. During her show at the Mohegan Sun Arena this week, Selena told the sold out crowd “Every day I get told I’m not sexy enough or I’m not cool enough or if I did this, or if I did that, I would have people love me… look at this room! I don’t have to do any of that to have love!”. This is where we’d like to imagine Sel snapping her fingers in a Z shape, flicking her hair and doing her best sassy walk off of the stage. That didn’t happen though.
Well in the words of the great, poptastic philosopher Selenius Gomezius “Who says? Who says you’re not perfect” Selena? POP BITS OUT.
POP BITS. On Wednesday night’s edition of American talk show Jimmy Kimmel live, some of our favourite popstars (and some we’ve admittedly never heard of) all sat down and ready some pretty nasty things about themselves.
Our favourites are Selena Gomez reading that people don’t know why they hate her, they just do. John Legend reading that he cries after sex, Demi Lovato reading that people just want her music to stop, and Pharrell Williams being told he looks like a sewer rat!
Beware, it gets a bit explicit at times…
Watch the video below and let us know which you think is the funniest, and who you would like to see read your mean tweet! POP BITS OUT.
POP BITS. Oooh playing hard to get are we, George? Well, if you were expecting George Shelley and Selena Gomez to be the next pop power couple, we’re afraid you’re about to be very disappointed. Talking to Capital Fm, Selena has revealed that George didn’t bother calling her back. Awkwaaard.
The future looked so bright for Sorge Gelley. Between cheeky “Give me a call” videos and tour romances, we were expecting the couple to give Zerrie a good run for their money. However, according to Selena, George didn’t bother to call her back… and she’s pretty offended by it.
When Capital FM asked her who she would most like to receive a flirty DM from, Sel revealed “Well, since I’m here I’m actually very offended that George didn’t call me, from Union J. I’m offended. I’m actually offended… I was like ‘come on’”. It’ okay Selena, we’ve been waiting for the call since The X Factor days.
We guess George still isn’t ready to come and get it. Sorry Sel. POP BITS OUT.
*Tense X Factor thudding music (you can also flick the lights in the room on and off if you would like to increase the tense mood)* The results are in for the MP! Top Ten.
You had your say and we have calculated (and recalculated) the votes and we can reveal that the MP! Top Ten is, as follows:
Selena Gomez- ‘Slow Down’ makes it’s first appearance in the MP! Top Ten in tenth place, closely followed by a new entry from The Saturdays, ‘Disco Love’, in at number 9. The number 8 spot is held by Nariana with their duet ‘Almost Is Never Enough’ whilst Union J’s ‘Carry You’ is still going strong at number 7. Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball smashes in at number 6 and another new entry, ‘R U Crazy?’ by Conor Maynard, takes fifth place.
The Wanted have moved up one place to number 4 from last week with ‘We Own The Night’ whilst Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ holds on to her spot in third place. But who came out on top in MP! Top Ten. We can reveal it was EXTREMELY close with just two votes in the difference. The Vamps came in second with ‘Can We Dance’ and One Direction hold onto the top spot with ‘Best Song Ever’!
Here at MP!, we don’t always agree with the charts, like when The Wanted’s ‘We Own The Night’ didn’t make number 1 or when MKS’ ‘Flatline’ didn’t even make it into the Top 40. So, we’ve decided to make our very own top 10 and the best part is you decide,
to evict Makosi call and pick your favourite tracks to feature in our MP! Top Ten Playlist.
Through extensive pop research involving twerking studies, pop star nipple reactions and goosebump analysis, we have compiled a list of twenty of the best songs around (and even included some album tracks). You choose your 5 faves and then we add all the votes together to come up with our MP! Top Ten Playlist.
If there is a song that isn’t in our Top Ten poll, then just write it in the comment box and we’ll add it to our next one.
Voting is now closed. Check out The MP! Top Ten and if you have any suggestions for next week, leave them in the comment box below.
