Rita Ora album signing tonight in London!

Guest X Factor judge (and Jay-Z’s latest signing) Rita Ora has been tipped by many music industry types as the UK Rihanna, and following her THREE number one singles (‘Hot Right Now’ with DJ Fresh, ‘RIP’ feat. Tinie Tempah and ‘How We Do (Party)’), Rita’s debut album Ora was released yesterday!
We gave you all the goss on the album MONTHS ago (we’re good like that), and after her first three singles each sold over 100,000 copies in their first weeks, Ora looks set to hit the top of the album charts on Sunday.
What’s more, the lovely Rita is doing an album signing in London tonight! Ms Ora will be meeting fans and signing CDs at HMV Whiteleys in Bayswater from 6pm. Wristbands to access the event are available instore from 9am today (first come, first served), so get yourself down there and tell Rita that Maximum Pop! sent you.

Don’t Miss: Rita Ora – ‘R.I.P.’ featuring Tinie Tempah
We’ve already explained before why we think new girl Rita Ora is set to be the next big thing, but if you’ve still not quite made up your mind, get your first listen to her official debut UK single right here on Maximum Pop!
‘R.I.P.’ is much closer in style to her Number One hit with DJ Fresh ‘Hot Right Now’, although it’s definitely a slower and more sultry cousin. Whilst the track isn’t necessarily mind blowing, the radio friendly production and rap section from ‘Pass Out’ star Tinie Tempah mean that this will probably be all over the charts when it’s released and will keep us ticking over until she releases something much harder and confident.

Lana Del Rey inspired by another Femme Fatale, Olly Murs announces new single, Adele set for surprise duet and brand new Parade choreography – gossip!
Lana Del Rey is currently outselling the entire UK Top Ten with her incredible debut album Born To Die, but the mysterious singer has admitted that she’s not usually inspired by other female artists. But luckily she does have a soft spot for the biggest Femme Fatale of them all – Britney Spears! She says, “There is something about Britney that compelled me – the way she sings and just the way she looks.”
According to Labrinth, Adele and Tinie Tempah really are hoping to work on a duet together. ”We talked about doing that, so it might just end up happening this year.” We’re secretly crossing our fingers to hear Adele rapping about being down with the freshers, but if it’s more a case of ‘Empire State Of Mind’ 2012, then that will be fine too.
Brit Award nominee and Xtra Factor presenter Olly Murs has revealed that the third single to be released from his latest album will be ‘Oh My Goodness’. The track will be available on April 1st with a new b-side – and whilst we’re not necessarily Olly’s biggest fan, we reckon it’s not that bad. Listen to ‘Oh My Goodness’ here. Trumpets ahoy.
And finally, yesterday MP! and Thing went to watch Parade in their gruelling and demanding rehearsals. We got to see a sneak preview of some brand new choreography (Thing tried to secretly film it, but put his finger over the lens by accident) and according to the band our faces lit up like children on Christmas day! A+ girls.

Pop makes a comeback, Lady Gaga’s Twitter record, Katy Perry’s new tune and TW on 1D – Gossip!

Katy Perry has released a new tune! Kind of. Taking a break from the divorce, Katy has released an acoustic version of ‘The One That Got Away’. She’s made it available as a download in the States which means if it makes the top spot (the original version peaked at number three) Katy will become the first artist in music history to have six number one tracks from a single album. Way to milk a record Katy!
Lady Gaga has become the first person to reach 18m twitter followers, at last count she was on 18,137,279. That’s over 1 million more than the population of the Netherlands, nearly two million more followers than Bieber and um 18,126,427 more than MP! fact fans.
The Wanted have been getting all gushy over fellow boybanders One Direction. Max says they like the boys loads but would love to see what they’re like “after a beer.” Meanwhile Mr George is impressed with Harry Style’s pulling power saying he’s “delighted for the boy” for hooking up with Caroline. Nathan doesn’t sound so pleased though commenting that he thought he had something special with Ms Flack, get in line Nath.
All hail the power of pop! New figures show that pop music dominated the charts last year grabbing 33.6% of the market compared to rock which took just 29.4%, a big reduction on the last few years. Adele helped push pop with her album 21 the top selling album of 2011 whilst Rihanna, Gaga and Jessie J were also in the top ten. Well done pop fans!
Tinie Tempah is the latest popstar to turn fashion designer. Tinie has been in Milan for the past week studying up on things fashion and working through the night in his own studio. He hopes to release his Disturbing London clothes line later in the year, bring on the bow ties and geek glasses!
Relations seem to be thawing between Nadine Coyle and the rest of Girls Aloud. Last night Nadine announced she was grieving for the death of a close friend and Chez was quick to jump on twitter and send her love: “I just want you to know I am thinking of you at this sad and tragic time. I’m so sorry to hear of your lost. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. God bless you all. All my love Cheryl xx.” Now everyone whisper it so we don’t scare the love away, “Girls Aloud reunion?”
