Battle Of The Boy Band Tours – McFly are in the lead! Cast your vote now
Comments
A whopping 1,395 MP!ers have voted so far in the official MP! Battle Of The Boy Band Tours poll – and three days into the competition the McFly lads are currently in the lead, with The Wanted following behind. In our quest to find out which upcoming boy band tours YOU are most excited for, things have been getting pretty heated. Here’s what some of you lot have been saying…
Zanita Reubens: “I think TW fans need to learn that playing instruments for one song ISN’T THE SAME as being a band…McFly fans get annoyed because McFly have written EVERY song…not just a couple….and they PLAY every song…not just one (and even that not that well)…they are in no ways the same!!”
ChrisTTinaMCFLY: ”I’m going with Twenty Twenty, because just everything about them in general are better than anything. I’ve been to their shows before they got signed and they put on amazing performances and they interact with you, the atmosphere is amazing and they always make an effort to meet people afterwards”
1D_Luva: ”If One Direction were on here I’d vote a million times…. but I’m gonna have to settle for JLS cos my friend is OBSESSED!!”
That last one is our favourite – good reasoning. If you want to see The Wanted overtake McFly, or want to help poor JLS and Twenty Twenty catch up, then make sure you cast your vote. Don’t forget to let all your mates know about the poll too – your favourite can only win if more of you get voting!
Show me the moneysPopstar merchandise: a rip-off or worth every penny? MP! Investigates
Comments
From signed canvases, to glow in the dark wristbands, via flashing Katy Perry head bands – the range of items that pop stars are desperate to stick their names on is greater than ever. For many MP!ers, owning pop star merchandise is almost as important as downloading the music, seeing the live show and planting a big wet one on Siva’s cheek. But are the scary men at the record labels exploiting your desire to be a band’s biggest and most dedicated fan by ripping you off?
Here at MP! we decided it was time to investigate – what are the best deals, how can you get the best bargains and is pop merchandise really overpriced? The answers to all these questions and more are below…
Single and album releases, pop on TV, gigs and concerts – track them all

Which pop stars reply to fan mail and which don’t? MP! investigates
Comments
A long, long time ago, back in a year known as 2011, MP! (in its previous incarnation) sent fan mail to 10 major British pop stars. Pretending to be a 7-year old girl. Called Emma. Who likes sock puppets. We also sent a stamped, self-addressed envelope desperately asking the pop star – what’s your ‘favrit’ animal and will you send me a signed picture, pleeeeasse? So which pop stars love their fans, and which only love their fans’ money. Let’s find out.
Firstly the unsuspecting pop stars we pitted against each other were – JLS, The Wanted, McFly, Parade, Soundgirl, The Saturdays, Cheryl Cole, N-Dubz, Sugababes and Twenty Twenty.
NEW MP! gets shout outs from massive British Pop Stars
Everyone knows that pop stars don’t ‘do’ queueing but it looks like they’ve made an exception today, as they’re lining up to congratulate us on our new look website. Parade, Oh My!, Twenty Twenty, The Wanted, GMD3 and Luminites have all taken time from their busy pop-star schedules to give MP! a massive shout out on twitter. So now you know where they hang out when they’re not busy recording hits, hitting high notes and spending their millions. Thanks guys.
