Alexandra Burke talks dream collaborations, fancying Rihanna and breaking America!
I have loads of shows across the country, I am travelling a lot. I have been so busy so my brain is just on overload at the moment! I managed to get a break in Miami which I surprised my sister with but I had to have some very exciting meetings over there, that’s why I took her over with me.
There seems to be a lot of support growing for you in America – will you be trying to break the American market?
My American fans are really getting behind me, I will be going over there, I can promise you and I will break America! It is happening but in God’s time. It has to be in God’s time. I cannot rush it.
Who would you love to collaborate with?
When I do go to the States I would like to work with Usher, Beyoncé, Rihanna and Chris Brown. I was hanging with Usher last time he was in the UK!
Do you ever listen to your own music?
I love all of my songs but I could never listen to them! The only times I can do that is on the stage or in the studio. Actually, I heard a couple of my tracks in Superdrug not long ago and I started walking around listening.
When it comes to image, the words “compete” and “competition” are not in my vocabulary. There is enough room for everyone in this industry because we all are so diverse. I like to be me, I do like my curves, I like my hips and I love my booty and it ain’t going nowhere, EVER!!
What advice would you give to Little Mix?
If I could tell everyone one thing it would be that they are unique and they are special, there is nobody out there who looks like you or is anything like you. Once you find what you love to do in terms of music then stick to it because if you’re loving it and the fans are loving it then you will have no regrets!
Finally, do you have a celebrity crush at the moment?
The only person I have my eye on is Rihanna. No men, just Rihanna. She is SMOKING HOT.
Indeed, she is. Thank you, Alexandra!
Thank you!!
Alexandra will perform in Les Misérables as part of Children in Need’s POP Goes the Musical on 18 September. Blue, Geri Halliwell and Stooshe are also appearing in West End musicals in October and November. Details and tickets!

Carly Rae Jepsen beats own mentor Justin Bieber to Number 1!
3Comments
Justin Bieber’s support for Carly Rae Jepsen has been so successful that she beat him to Number 1 in the UK singles charts this weekend! The one-time Canadian Idol contestant’s ridiculously catchy hit ‘Call Me Maybe’ notched up a second week at the top of the pile, selling twice as many downloads as Justin’s new tune ‘Boyfriend’, which lands at Number 2. But Carly wasn’t the only one to beat her mentor, as Justin’s buddy Usher charted below him at Number 4 with ‘Climax’. It’s like an amazing pop family tree, but with Gotye awkwardly sandwiched in the middle.

Don’t Miss: Usher gets steamy in his ‘Climax’ video
We wouldn’t say Usher is going back to his roots, but on new single ‘Climax’, the superstar has definitely traded in his Guetta-esque dance pop sound for something all together more subtle and sexier. The Diplo produced track now has an intense, smouldering video to go with it that premiered earlier this morning. Usher flexes his acting skills in the clip, that also features a steamy love affair, a gun and a car crash (well, almost). It’s a bit like a less dramatic version of Justin Timberlake’s ‘What Goes Around… Comes Around’. We didn’t spot any full blown nipple, but there’s a few scenes of skin on skin action too – maybe not one to watch in front of your gran in the living room.

Just In: Usher – ‘Climax’
We probably should have waited until after 9pm to post this, but we know how hungry some of you lot can get for new music, so here it is. Usher has returned with a brand new track, produced by Diplo, and if there was ever a song that deserved to be labelled as a “baby making tune” then this is it. Featuring old school R&B falsetto, with tantalising snippets of dub-step, we’re basically finding it a bit hard to concentrate on our work now, too busy imagining the amount of nipple that might get showcased in the music video. Saucy.
Listen to ‘Climax’ by Usher below.
‘Climax’ by Usher is taken from his upcoming new album and will be released on April 15th – this date has been added to our Pop Diary. Hit like below if you’ll be downloading the track.

Cheryl Cole’s new album – 5 things you *need* to know
Despite the fact that it actually had some really strong tracks on it, Cheryl Cole’s last album ended up being a bit of a laughing stock, thanks to uninspired lyrics (who can forget the classic, “You were the tree and I was the apple”?), cheap production and really dodgy vocals – but with her third solo album expected later this year, we decided to do the research and find out if there’s any chance she might turn it all around. The answer? In short, it looks like she’s got a good shot.
Keep reading to find out 5 things you *need* to know about Cheryl Cole’s new album, including who’s masterminding it, when you can expect to hear the first single and what the ex-Girls Aloud star herself thinks of it. (more…)
