It’s hard to believe that One Direction are already gearing up for 2015 on the road, having not long been home from their 2014 tour. But it’s true, the lads have uploaded a video on their Instagram page of their own Naill Horan rehearsing new songs.
Always wanted to spend Christmas with the McBusted lads? Now you can… sort of. The guys have been kind enough to film a live McBusted Christmas Google hangout so we can all pretend we are spending the big day with them and they are all our boyfriends.
Watch out – there’s a massive pop-hurricane headed your way! But it’s a good kind of hurricane. This is Ebony Day who is going to be huge. Her YouTube performances are whipping up an absolute storm (see what we did there?) with the people that know these sorts of things. The talented little 19 year old has over 19 million views and 150,000 YouTube subscribers. And she’s just gone and won MTV’s Brand New for 2013 search.
Ebony spent the day swinging on swings, swapping hats, singing to puggles and being bothered by MP! TV presenter Luke Franks on a farm. She also performed a couple of live acoustic tracks for us. All in all she rated the day 0/10 – which leaves us with a little room for improvement next time. You can see all this (and Luke’s snazzy jumper) in Ebony’s MP! TV interview coming very soon.
Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade are back with the video for new single ‘DNA’ – a kitsch and highly gif-able remake of ‘Sin City’ meets ‘Misfits’ that plays out the girls’ obsession with some poor blighter called Ryan. The top-notch clip (set to one of our favourite pop tunes of 2012) includes dramatic hair flipping, lip wobbling and a bizarre running scene that’ll have you saying WTF until Christmas. In other words, it’s bloody brilliant. Watch the Little Mix ‘DNA’ video now:
OK FINE, WE ADMIT IT. We bloody love Conor Maynard. And why? Because the 19-year-old Brightonian is not only a great popstar with some killer tunes up his sleeve, he’s also a very funny guy… as we found out at T4 On The Beach on Sunday. Our man Luke Franks spoke to him about his grandma, his house, his hats, and his incredible journey from bedroom-based YouTube-botherer to playing for thousands in Weston-super-Mare. Take a look below.
B.o.B. and Taylor Swift have uploaded the vid for their duet ‘Both Of Us’. “A lot of heart went into this one,” the latter revealed Upon The Twitter, and their efforts are clear to see – arty shots of horses! Newborn babies! B.o.B. in a barn! And, of course, Taylor looking wistful as she sings in a sunny meadow! We can always count on B.o.B. (such an inconvenient name to type *smh*) for a lovely dose of rap-pop, and ‘Both Of Us’ is his best in quite some time in our humble opinion. What do you think?
The lyric video phenomenon is a recent trend that has become widespread in the last year. When a popstar has new music ready to go but no video, it’s a quick and easy way to get the song onto YouTube whilst also helping fans learn the songwords! Genius.
So while you Mayniacs patiently wait for the ‘Vegas Girl’ video, press play below and practise singing along -you’ll be word-perfect in time for all of Conor’s upcoming performances!
X Factor 2011 contestant Misha B has unleashed a stunning video for her debut single ‘Home Run’, and we’re making it our Alarm Pop song of the day.
The song begins with Misha showing off her impressive vocals over a smooth piano that reminds us of Beverley Knight (ask your older sister). However, this sedate intro quickly mutates into something altogether more attitude-packed and moody (much like Misha herself!) and sees the Manchester girl singing and rapping over beats produced by the multi-talented MNEK.
As for the video, we particularly like the ‘Misha B’-branded eyelashes, a blingtastic ‘Homerun’ gold ring that impractically spans three fingers and the scary glow-in-the-dark neon make-up. Check it out here!
Sound the ‘Guess Who’s Back, Back Again’ klaxon as Tina Barrett, formerly of once-amazing pop group S Club 7 (ask your mum) reveals that new single ‘Fire’ (which is pretty good) is coming straight from her new album. More astonishingly is the news that she’s attracted the attention of producers such as Beenie Man and global maestro William Orbit, best known for his work with Queen of Pop Madge (including her latest album). Sounds like she’s taking this comeback business seriously – here’s hoping she’s more of a Rachel Stevens than a Jo O’Meara then, eh?
