Thanks to topnotch new 02 venue Brooklyn Bowl for the tickets.
She’s 1/4 of our favourite new girlgroup Neon Jungle, loves bacon, and is pop’s biggest fan girl. Here’s Asami Zdrenka chilling with (deep breath) James The Vamps, Taylor Swift, Ke$ha, Conor Maynard, Lawson, McFly, Miguel, Olly Murs… in fact, the only snap missing from her superstar line-up is a much-coveted 1D selfie. Next time AZ.
Making his way through the ranks of supremely talented young musicians on the brink of full-on superstardom, we have to talk about one of our favourite new artists, the awesomely-monikered Intensi-T (get it?), a fresh-faced new rapper and beatboxer set to take UK music by storm.
Intensi-T – aka Tom Povey, but let’s face it, you could have Intensi-T on your passport, you’d have it – is a 21 year old up-and-comer who won himself big supporting slots on Ed Sheeran’s latest tour and has worked and performed with the likes of Jessie J, Chase and Status, Nicola Roberts (from Girls Aloud) and Rizzle Kicks, securing his spot as one to watch.
We’ve heard his buzz tune ‘My Drums’ and it’s a cracking, spirited track with vocals reminiscent of Conor Maynard with the lyrical edge and skill of Rizzle Kicks, resulting in a cool hip-hop flavoured, bright song that’s a delight to listen to. Seriously, listen to it once and you’ll be imagining yourself running down the beach with your mates in the summer sun. That’s an MP! promise.
Thank you Transmitter. Here’s pop cool kid Conor Maynard talking bedtime nakedness, missing bellybuttons and doing The Carlton Dance in the latest Transmitter Push The Button episode premiering exclusively on Maximum Pop!. Enjoy.
Hear about signings, ticket pre-sales, gigs, TV and radio appearances, competitions fan events, and webchats first. Starring 1D, The Wanted, Little Mix, Justin, Union J and 41 other artists, Teen Events is Maximum Pop!’s brand new website. And 10,000 people have registered already.
POP BITS. This Sunday, a bunch of up-and-coming pop singers will be kicking a ball about in the name of charity at Soccer Six. The event, which will be held at The Soccerdome in Greenwich, is in aid of charity Hearts & Goals, which raises awareness of sudden cardiac arrest.
Organisers have been announcing new additions to the line-up throughout November on their Twitter account, and their latest news has sent fans into a bit of a tizzy. Lottie Tomlinson, little sis of One Direction’s sassiest member Louis, will be attending the event.
Whether she’s following in her bro’s footballing footsteps and will be getting in on the action on the pitch isn’t known, but if she does, we sure hope she isn’t floored by a nasty tackle like Tommo was in a recent charity game.
Other celebs appearing include Kingsland Road, Miss Dynamix, Overload, Conor Maynard’s little bro Jack (we’re noticing a sibling theme here) and a whole host of other names. There’s even (randomly) some peeps from Geordie Shore. Check out Soccer Six’s Twitter account and website for more info. POP BITS OUT.
Today’s the day! Conor Maynard’s shiny new book ‘Take Off’ is in all good bookshops and some pretty good online stores too!
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we have a copy of ‘Take Off’ to give to one lucky Mayniac.
This competition closes at 9pm today (October 10th), so you better get tweeting!
*Tense X Factor thudding music (you can also flick the lights in the room on and off if you would like to increase the tense mood)* The results are in for the MP! Top Ten.
You had your say and we have calculated (and recalculated) the votes and we can reveal that the MP! Top Ten is, as follows:
Selena Gomez- ‘Slow Down’ makes it’s first appearance in the MP! Top Ten in tenth place, closely followed by a new entry from The Saturdays, ‘Disco Love’, in at number 9. The number 8 spot is held by Nariana with their duet ‘Almost Is Never Enough’ whilst Union J’s ‘Carry You’ is still going strong at number 7. Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball smashes in at number 6 and another new entry, ‘R U Crazy?’ by Conor Maynard, takes fifth place.
The Wanted have moved up one place to number 4 from last week with ‘We Own The Night’ whilst Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ holds on to her spot in third place. But who came out on top in MP! Top Ten. We can reveal it was EXTREMELY close with just two votes in the difference. The Vamps came in second with ‘Can We Dance’ and One Direction hold onto the top spot with ‘Best Song Ever’!
We bumped into Union J the other day and just had to pick their impeccably formed pop brains for their verdict on some of the hottest tunes around. We’ve previously asked The Vamps, Conor Maynard, Diana Vickers and Emblem3… so it’s only natural that Union J had their say.
We love it. It’s a really solid track. It’s interesting because he won The X Factor and everyone was expecting a lot from him, but he delivered.
It’s a really catchy song. It’s great because the guys are just doing so well. We are really happy for them.
We love this one too. Everyone is always talking about how controversial she is but every song she releases is great and is an absolute hit.
Love it! This is our favourite song at the moment. It’s so different from everything that he’s done before and we think it’s one of the best songs this year.
It’s our most favourite song ever! No… we’re kidding. We’re really happy with the fans’ reactions and fingers crossed that it does well.
You can listen to Union J’s new single ‘Beautiful Life’ below which will be available to download on the 20th of October (one week before the album).
It’s that time of the week again when we enlist the help of awesome pop stars and ask them to give us their brutally honest opinions on some of the hottest new tracks around. It’s kind of like being an X Factor judge minus the million pound contract and amazing dresses.
This time round we asked ‘Turn Around’ crooner, Conor Maynard! He’s pretty much got a Masters in Pop so we were very keen to hear his thoughts on some of the latest musical releases. Find out what he had to say below:
I love that song. The hook is by Bruno Mars and it’s really funny actually because I heard the Bruno Mars version first. But Brad kills it and they are all really nice guys.
I was quite shocked by all the controversy around it, as I was expecting something really bad. I thought the video was a little crazy but I love the song. I even covered it.
It’s got some of the best beats I’ve heard in a long time. I love the trumpets or saxophones or whatever they are. I think it’s really cool and clever and Jason Derulo is great.
I think it’s a cool, *N Sync kind of track. I would have liked to hear more vocals from Austin though. I think it’s a little safe and I’d really like to see him push himself.
BEST SONG EVER! I think the track was written really well but I just wish that they had chosen a different singer. Conor Maynard is awful!
Do you agree with Conor? Check out our interview with him here and have a listen to ‘R U Crazy’ below, which is due for release on Sunday the 6th of October.
