Justin Bieber’s protege Carly Rae Jepsen is ready to release her debut album Kiss, and we’ve got all the goss for you!
After ‘Call Me Maybe’ sold an astonishing 1 million copies in the UK alone and spent 8 weeks at number one in America, the follow up, ‘Good Time’ (with Owl City), has had over 6m views on VEVO!
Carly Rae has been collaborating with a team of her “dream producers” including Max Martin (Britney Spears, P!nk), Dallas Austin (Sugababes), Toby Gad (Beyoncé) and Redfoo from LMFAO. She says of Kiss, “these are lyric and song ideas that I have been collecting over the years. The record is pop. It’s inspired by Robyn, The Cars, Madonna, and believe it or not, James Taylor. I can’t wait to share it with everyone!”
Ms Jepsen will be supporting Bieber on tour in the US and Canada, and hopes to make her way over to the UK soon. We can’t wait to hear this album!
Apologetic neighbours, comeback beauty queens and sleazy panty-dropping pop stars – welcome to this week’s Download or Ditch? Which of this week’s releases are worth your hard-earned dosh.
LMFAO ‘Sorry For Party Rocking’
The Party Rockers are back and feeling guilty in this wigggle-wiggle-wiggle-free retread of ‘Sexy & I Know It’. Lots of fun but not their best. DITCH.
Marina And The Diamonds ‘Primadonna’
Wobbly welsh lass Marina And The Diamonds returns with a proper first single from her second album Electra Heart. The Dr Luke produced track features Lambrini’s trademark swooping vocals and a shouty chorus over crunchy electronic beats. DOWNLOAD.
Conor Maynard ‘Can’t Say No’
Panty-dropping pop crooner Conor leaves leaves behind his ‘made on YouTube’ origins with a debut single that’s already top 3 on the iTunes chart. It’s hypnotic, repetitive and just the right side of a restraining order. Not a bad start for one of our favourite new pop stars. DOWNLOAD.
It may be a night centred around sport, but Sport Relief 2012 is still finding time to let out the popstars. LMFAO will appear on BBC1 between 7:00 and 7:30pm, to kick the night off with some shufflin’. Emeli Sandé is burning the midnight oil with a rendition of her current hit ‘Next to Me’ between 11 and 12pm. But JLS are the star attractions, with a performance of the official Sport Relief single ‘Proud’ set for between 9:30 and 10pm. Plus there’s dozens of other stars to make the whole show worth watching and donating to, from Strictly Come Dancing finalists Harry Judd and Chelsee Healey in an underwater challenge to the Britain’s Got Talent team visiting Benidorm. Tune in from 7pm on Friday 23rd March. We’ve added the night to our Pop Diary, hit like below if you’ll be watching.
Turns out that The Biebs hasn’t just been hard at work on his own upcoming Believe album, he’s also been working other acts! American stars Far East Movement (who brought you previous party anthem ‘Like A G6′) have recorded a brand new song with Lady Gaga super producer RedOne and they’ve managed to get Justin to sing the chorus for them!
How do we know all this? Well Redfoo from LMFAO decided to treat the crowd to a snippet of the future smash at a recent DJ gig. And we’ve got video evidence right here. Listen to a preview of Far East Movement’s ‘Live My Life’ featuring Justin Bieber below.
The latest musical guests on The Jonathan Ross Show will be party rockers LMFAO. Chatting on the same show will be Keith Lemon, Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby from Celebrity Juice. The show airs at 9:20pm on Saturday 18th February. We’ve added that date to our Pop Diary; hit like below if you’ll be watching and shuffling.
Dance breaks, crazy vocal performances and nipple slips – no Super Bowl game is complete without a ridiculous and over-the-top half time performance from a world famous pop star.
Last night team MP! stayed up late to watch the legendary Madonna bring her special 12 minute show to the American game (a game that we learned is a bit like rugby except the players don’t do much and they stop the clock for time outs every 5 seconds) – and whilst we weren’t completely blown away, there’s no denying that it was pretty impressive.
Arriving on the back of a giant Roman army cavalry, Madonna worked her way through some of her greatest hits with the help of party rockers LMFAO and Cee Lo Green, whilst also enlisting Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. for a full cheerleader routine to brand new single ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” – check out the entire thing below!
